The SenseWear® MF body monitoring system offers amazingly detailed information about the life style of the test person, about his/her physical activity, rest and sleep times, energy expenditure; all this information being comfortably gathered under “free living” conditions, recorded and analyzed. By continuous sensory tracking of the wearer’s thermogenesis, not only activity, but also inactivity, particularly relevant to our modern life style, can be collected, analyzed, and exactly related to energy levels such as Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR).
The Monitoring System comprises the SenseWear® MF armband, an extensively validated medical product, comfortably worn on the upper arm. Continuously acquiring a stream of high-resolution physiological data over a period of up to 28 days the multi-sensory armband records, averages, and stores the data in its internal memory. As an essential part of the Monitoring System, the SenseWear® software, which can be installed on practically any PC under MS Windows, analyzes the recorded information, and organizes the results into graphs and reports. Over any selected period of time, the wearer’s energy expenditure (calories burned), physical activity level (PAL), duration and level of physical activity, number of steps, rest and sleep times and other lifestyle related parameters can be documented.
The slim design of the Armband and its low weight of only 45 grams including the elastic strap warrant uncompromising “wearability” under most “free living” conditions. Discreetly worn under clothing on the upper arm the monitor can also analyze rest and sleep by evaluating thermogenesis, the heat generated and dissipated from the body, a unique feature other activity monitors cannot offer. These specifications lead to an excellent wearer compliance with daily recording times of typically up to 23 hours, assuring robust data consistency and safety. Proven in a broad range of applications, structured programs, and scientific studies the Armband is applied by clinicians, researchers, personal trainers, dieticians, weight management consultants, research institutions, practices, hospitals, as well as fitness and wellness facilities worldwide.

The wearable monitor contains four physiological sensors able to identify the full range of physical activities and inactivity making it the ideal tool in a multitude of applications.
Affordable yet highly accurate
Calorimeters may be precise but are demanding instruments not suitable for long-term recording. Actigraphs, pedometers, and accelerometers may be less expensive, but often less accurate or even not applicable. The SenseWear® MF armband though is both, affordable and accurate at the same time.
The slim ergonomic form factor of the SenseWear® MF does not interfere with daily activities, may it be work, leisure, exercise, rest or even sleep. The monitor can be worn under clothing, for short or long durations, practically unfelt by wearer and unnoticed by his environment.
Activity monitoring can’t be made easier
The MF armband features a veritable simple application: Just slide the low profile armband over the arm. That’s it. Sensing skin contact it starts recording automatically and turns off automatically when taken off.

Within a few seconds data are downloaded from the armband to your PC, with results displayed in convincing simplicity. Zoom in to one minute or out to weeks, select events, annotate and evaluate, or share by printing or sending a report. It’s all at your fingertips!
The optional SenseWear® Professional software offers a multitude of important functions for scientific studies: Graphical display and documentation of any selected parameter, export of data into xls or csv formats, configuration of channels and sample rates (up to 32 Hz), and more.

The SenseWear® Display – Armband Data in Real Time
The SenseWear® Display presents Armband data in real time while being recorded in the armband. Up-to-the-minute feedback on energy expenditure, physical activity duration (PAD), steps and other parameters can be viewed and compared to previous day results or to an individual daily target. Connected by a wireless link to the Armband, log-on, synchronization, and data exchange is automated. Assisted by an intuitive interface, the wearer can activate a trip odometer to track specific daily workout activities and get alerts as soon as targets are achieved.
